What the test detects

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in blood. Some tests (e.g. Galleri, GRAIL) target multiple cancer types at once through DNA methylation patterns.

Where it's available

Availability in the Czech Republic is still limited. Some foreign laboratories offer the test with a blood draw in the Czech Republic and shipment abroad. Clinical studies are being conducted in academic settings.

Limits and caveats

Liquid biopsy for screening is still in the research phase. A high rate of false-positive and false-negative results. It does not replace standard screening programs. A positive result requires confirmation by classical methods.
