Prostate cancer screening
Prostate cancer screening program for men aged 50–69, including a PSA blood test performed by the general practitioner. If PSA exceeds 3 µg/L, the patient is referred to a certified outpatient urology facility and possibly further examinations (MRI, biopsy).
Eligibility conditions
- Valid preventive check-up with a general practitioner (not older than 2 years)
- No outstanding insurance debt
- Participation in screening programs appropriate to age and sex
Jak čerpat
- Visit your general practitioner.
- The physician offers enrollment in screening to men aged 50–69.
- A PSA blood test is performed.
- Based on the result, you will be invited for a further examination in 2 or 4 years.
- At PSA > 3 µg/L, referral follows to a certified outpatient urology facility.
The program has been running since the beginning of 2024.
